Yahoo Media Player in Blackboard

What is Yahoo Media Player?

Yahoo Media Player is an easy to use widget (see image above) that creates a control strip that lists and plays MP3 audio and other media files linked or placed in your Blackboard content area. It is important to note that this tool complements media you've found and wish to use within your page.

1. Follow the steps on Yahoo's Media Player Site http://mediaplayer.yahoo.com/

Within Blackboard

2. Within the course, click Control Panel at left

3. From the options choose a content area such as Course Documents

4. Select the Add Item icon

5. Under Content Information

6. Enter a Name

7. Paste code you copied from http://mediaplayer.yahoo.com into the Text area (see image below). Note the additional links to mp3 files (your desired audio clips)

8. Select the HTML radio button

9. Click Submit

10. Click Ok

You should now see a media player tab within this content area. Click the tab to open the media player
