Introductory Training

Intro | Intermediate Workshops

Introduction to Blackboard

This is a two-hour hands-on workshop that introduces you to the features of Blackboard, shows you how to add content to your course and gives you a forum to ask questions. You'll add content and graphics to a practice site, learn about the online gradebook and communication features such as the Discussion Board and practice customizing the look of your course. Although Blackboard is a relatively easy, point and click program, there are some basic procedures that all instructors should know. Even if you're a savvy computer user, this workshop will show you things that will save you time in the long run.

Introduction to Blackboard Workshops are offered weekly at the beginning of each semester and then monthly throughout the rest of the semester. Attendance at an Introduction to Blackboard Workshop is required before you can receive a course site on the Blackboard Server. If you are unable to attend a scheduled Introduction to Blackboard Workshop and would like to get started on your course site before the next scheduled workshop, please contact the Blackboard Help Desk.

Intermediate Workshops

Once you're comfortable with the basic workings of Blackboard, we suggest taking one or more intermediate workshops that are offered throughout the semester.
