Wimba Voice Tools & Live Classroom

What is Wimba?

Wimba consists of two tool sets: Voice Tools and Live Classroom.

Voice Tools give you the ability to add voice recordings, discussion boards, and live chat sessions combining text and voice to your Blackboard course, and to send out voice- based emails through Blackboard. Though the potential uses are many, we anticipate that these tools will be especially valuable for language and communications courses, and for instructors who wish to easily give verbal feedback to students.

Live Classroom is a web conferencing system, offering you the ability to hold class sessions, group meetings, office hours, or guest presentations online with audio, video, text, images, and multimedia materials. Participant interaction may occur through text chat, audio discussion, and polls including yes/no, multiple choice, and open-ended questions. You may archive live sessions for on-demand playback by your students, and you may pre-record lectures or other forms of presentation for online viewing, freeing class time for other kinds of interaction.
