The ITS Multimedia Team has been developing high quality instructional multimedia projects on CD-ROM, Internet and DVD since 1996. We work closely with SDSU faculty to analyze concepts and learning strategies and turn them into well designed, professional looking interactive media projects.

Phonetic Transcription Phonetic Transcription: A practical approach
Phonetic Transcription was created for Dr. Jessica Barlow of the Department of Communicative Disorders. It provides a unique opportunity to practice phonetic transcription skills by displaying short movie clips of both English and foreign words and sentences. Grab a pencil and paper, select the language or dialect of your choice, and start listening!
Digital Geophysical Analysis

Digital Geophysical Analysis
Digital Geophysical Analysis was created for Dr. George Jiracek of the Department of Geology. Geophysical field measurements (such as gravity and magnetic observations) begin a discovery process aimed at revealing hidden features in the Earth. This web site introduces the concepts of Digital Recording, Spectral Analysis, and Filtering to geophysics students.

The Human Development web site was developed for a course in the School of Teacher Education. It is a companion to the Level 1 Human Development for Educators course which is part of the SDSU blended program. The site includes 4 assignments with background information that consists of handouts, activities, glossaries and streaming videos.

San Diego's Mexican and Chicano History
San Diego's Mexican and Chicano History web site summarizes some of the most important people, events, and ideas that native peoples, Spaniards Mexicans, and Chicanos have contributed to our regional history. It draws from, and is a companion to a larger work in progress, written collaboratively and yet to be published.

Crime & Society Crime and Society: A Comparative Criminology Tour of the World
Crime and Society was built for Dr. Bob Winslow of the Department of Sociology. This site reports about justice systems around the world. Only a few country reports have been completed at this time. The idea is for Dr. Winslow to have his students research various countries and then pour their research into the template created by this site.

The Fraction Understanding web site was designed for a course taught as part of the Center for Research in Science and Mathematics. This site was designed to help future teachers begin to consider the complexity of teaching fractions by considering the work of one child.

School Stories
The School Stories web site was developed for a course in the School of Teacher Education. It stores a collection of K-12 school experiences that allows future teacher to read about the impact that teachers can have on their students.

The History of Chicano Park web site was created for a Mexican-American Studies. The site contains historical accounts, photos of murals and a virtual tour.
photo The Poetry of John Keats
A cross-platform CD-ROM (and accompanying web site) featuring three of Keats' greatest works: When I Have Fears, Ode on a Grecian Urn, and La Belle Dame Sans Merci. Each poem is read in dramatic fashion then explained in detail. Stunning graphics, video, and audio make this multimedia tool an excellent teaching and learning resource.
photo Injury Evaluation: An Interactive Approach
A cross-platform CD-ROM to serve as a supplement and review for students in injury evaluation. The program addresses the need for providing students with more individualized instruction, and would ensure active participation in instruction -- especially important in a laboratory class setting. It would enhance the use of class time by allowing students to review instructional material prior to coming to class. The program will be piloted in ENS 366 and 366L. The program could also be made available to students for purchase through the bookstore as supplemental review material.
photo Gay and Lesbian History in the US
The Gay and Lesbian History in the US web site was created to help future and experienced teachers become more knowledgeable about and sensitive to the needs of their gay and lesbian students. The product will be used primarily in the introductory and advanced educational psychology courses. A prototype of this project existed in HyperStudio. The goal was to convert the project so that it could run on multiple platforms and make it more aesthetically pleasing.
photo Fitness Testing
A cross-platform CD-ROM to assist students in learning how to administer fitness tests. The CD allows students to choose among various categories and view video segments instructing them how to administer the tests. The CD is being used in 2 classes: PE305 and PE401. The program could also be made available to the student for purchase through the bookstore as supplemental review material.
