ITS maintains and supports a variety of technology resources available to faculty and staff including computer labs, SMART classrooms, videoconferencing facilities and online course management systems.
Technology
Labs
ITS provides computer assistance and consultation, a telephone
help line, and facilities for faculty and staff to produce
their own media and learn about new technologies.
SMART classrooms have an instructor station that includes
a computer, video/data projector, VCR, document presenter
and public address system with a wireless microphone.
Blackboard is an online course management system that allows
instructors to post learning materials and increase communication
with students via the Internet without learning HTML.
The Learning Research Studio (formerly known as the Experimental Classroom) is a place for faculty to conduct
research aimed at measuring and documenting the use of technological
tools to improve teaching and learning.
TurnItIn.com is "the world's leading plagiarism prevention
system." Attend one of the workshops for preemptive plagiarism
education as well as to learn how to check papers for academic
dishonesty.
Faculty may teach students at SDSU and at remote sites simultaneously
or participate in seminars, meetings and discussions with
professional colleagues at other sites.
Standard classrooms have an overhead projector, screen, television,
and videotape player. Requests for additional dedicated equipment
are accepted and provided as available. For more information,
