The Faculty Room is a self-serve facility for the exclusive
use of faculty and staff in the preparation of materials for use in
classroom instruction, professional presentations, and non-funded research
and publication. A consultant is always available to assist faculty,
but this is primarily a self-service facility.
Services Available
You can reserve most of the following equipment
for your use at the time you need it. All you need to do is talk with one
of the Instructional Technology Services' Faculty Room Consultants and your
reservation will be made.
| Audio Tape Duplication |
You can duplicate your audiotapes easily and quickly using
one of three different machines in the room.

| CD ROM Duplicator |
Duplicate copies of CD ROMs can be made.

| Document Scanners |
Scan in text or graphic documents. You can use the installed
software to adjust photos or other graphics to provide excellent quality
output. |
| Lamination |
Laminate your documents or presentations to keep them clean
and orderly. |
| ParScore Equipment |
Use PAR to keep track of your student's grades automatically.
Use the attached ScanMark scanner to automatically create your student rosters
and to input your student's test results. The PAR program will grade the
tests in accordance to the grading criteria you have established. You can
also print a variety of reports from the PAR program. |
| Poster Maker |
Create your document on regular or legal sized paper and use
the equipment to enlarge the document to poster size. |
| Printers |
You can print your work on black and white or color laser
printers. Excellent color transparencies can be produced. |
| Scantron |
Use the Scantron machine to automatically grade your student's
tests. |
| Computer-to-Slide Conversion |
You can use the equipment to create 35mm slides directly from
your PowerPoint or other presentation. |
| Slide Scanners |
Scan your existing slides into a Windows or Macintosh document. |
| Thermal Transparencies |
Make overhead transparencies directly from a printed document.
A variety of colors are available. |
| Transparencies |
Use the color printer to make transparencies directly from
your computer file. |
| Video Tape Duplication |
Make duplicates of your VHS tapes. You can use the equipment
to convert tapes to, or from, tape standards of other countries.

Use the editing equipment to edit or dub portions of one videotape
onto another tape.

| Windows & Macintosh Computers |
There are eight computers running the Windows operating system
and seven computers using the Macintosh operating system. Each computer
is loaded with a variety of software programs including Office 97 &
2000 (Windows) and Office 2001 (Macintosh). Older versions of several software
programs are available on some of the computers. |

Plus, of course, you have access to the paper cutter, hole punch, stapler
and pencil sharpener to help you get the job done. |
