Who uses Blackboard?
Currently there several hundred SDSU faculty using Blackboard to enhance their classroom instruction or for distance education. They are from every College and almost every Department on campus, and their computer skills range from novice to expert. Over 26,000 students use Blackboard each semester and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. Many faculty say that they are using Blackboard specifically at the request of their students.
How do I get started?
All instructors are encouraged to participate in Blackboard training from Instructional Technology Services. Workshops are offered multiple times at the beginning of each semester and at various times throughout the year. A schedule and registration tool for workshops and user group meetings is available for your convenience. In addition, one-on-one consultations or departmental training can be scheduled by contacting us.
Our online support site at http://its.sdsu.edu/blackboard/BB9/index.html is another way to get started. A great series of short videos covers all the basics and is well worth the 15 minutes it takes to view the series.
What if I need help?
Instructional Technology Services supports Blackboard users with a variety of hands-on workshops, customized consultations and training, a phone and email Help Desk, and an online support site. Contact the Help Desk by email at email@example.com or by phone at 619-594-3485. The online support site can be found by clicking on the "Help" icon from within Blackboard or by going to http://its.sdsu.edu/blackboard/BB9/index.html
