Summary

Kate Holvoet has been the ITS Fellow for Open Educational Resources (OER) since summer 2017. She has acquired several grants to help faculty identify low and no cost alternative course materials, and works with ITS, Aztex Shops, and Montezuma Publishing to ensure that the materials are formatted properly for course integration. Kate also works with ITS to help integrate library materials into Learning Management Systems on campus and to improve the institutional work flows between ITS and the Library.

Education

Master of Arts in Library and Information Science (MLIS) from the University of Iowa

Fun Fact

After getting a BA in Studio Art (also from the University of Iowa) Kate moved to Japan to teach English for 3 years, despite not liking fish, tea, nor seaweed. After being a librarian for 15 years she moved to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates to work at a university for 3.5 years, despite not liking coffee or dates. Both experiences did greatly expand her palette.
