As the ITS Faculty-in-Residence, Katie works on the implementation of instructional technologies and pedagogical strategies through co-facilitation of the SPOT (Self-Paced Online Training) program, following years of working with the Course Design Institute and Flexible Course Design Institute. In this capacity, she also liaises with CSU Online Course Services. Her faculty support focuses for ITS include online and hybrid course development, Canvas LMS, Turnitin plagiarism and feedback studio tools, and Learning Research Studio active learning classrooms. As an instructor, Katie has developed and taught fully online, hybrid, and face-to-face writing courses at SDSU for over 20 years.
