At SDSU, both students and faculty are incredibly diverse in multiple dimensions. These many identities can profoundly impact the experience that manifests in our classrooms, for both good and bad. In this hands-on workshop, we will explore what it means to create an inclusive classroom and discuss strategies for ensuring that all of our students feel welcome and supported.
Please note that a key aspect of creating an inclusive classroom is self-awareness on the part of the instructor. Participants should come with an open mind and a willingness to explore their own potential implicit biases (with no judgment!). Attendees are strongly encouraged to visit Harvard’s Project Implicit and take a few tests there prior to the workshop.
