Please join your colleagues for a lunch presentation and discussion focused on the upcoming campus evaluation of the Canvas learning management system. Blackboard has been the learning management system (LMS) at SDSU since 1997 and many faculty and students have expressed concerns that the application is difficult to use and that there must be a better system. One LMS in particular, Canvas, has been seen as a possible replacement and many institutions, including the entire California Community College system, have already transitioned or in the process of transitioning to the Canvas LMS.
This is an opportunity to learn more about the upcoming Canvas pilot, provide feedback on the evaluation process, and volunteer to participate on the evaluation committee for a new campus learning management system. Faculty who attend will be able to:
Describe the Canvas LMS pilot that will begin at SDSU in Fall 2018 (AY 2018/2019)
Explain how to learn more and get involved in a test pilot
- List unique features of Canvas and campuses within California who have made the change
This event is part of the CTL series Next Generation Learning Technologies. REGISTRATION REQUIRED.
* Graduate students are welcome to attend all CTL events, space permitting. If an event fills up, GTAs will be moved to the waitlist in the order in which they registered.
