Lead Mentor and CHEM 232 & STAT 119 Mentor
Hi everybody! My name is Matthew Guzman. I was born in Chicago, IL but I moved to Chula Vista, CA in 2005 and have been living there ever since. I chose to become a Kinesiology major here at SDSU because I want help out the community through the medical field. Helping out is also what prompted me to become an SI leader for STAT 119. I enjoyed my time as a leader for 3 semesters and when the time came, I switched over to the admin side. I’m excited to be one of the first mentors for SI. It is an honor to have worked on the formation of the mentors team. I wish all of the leaders, mentors, and students of SI great success this semester!
PSY 101 Mentor
Hiya! My name is Kelly. I’m originally from the SF bay area, but I just graduated in the Spring of 2019 from SDSU with a degree in Psychology with a minor in Counseling & Social Change. I am now a first year in SDSU’s Marriage and Family Therapy program (so if you’re interested in going to grad school for psychology, I would be happy to help you out!). After five semesters of being a PSY 101 SI Leader, I will be starting a new role this fall as an SI Leader Mentor, so I will be taking a step back from leading my own sessions. However, you can catch me joining Brooke during Virtual SI, as well as some other PSY 101 sessions. Can’t wait to meet you!
CHEM 100 Mentor
Hi there! My name is Crista Gregoire. I am from Los Angeles, CA and I am a senior Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences major with a Psychology minor. I am chapter president of my sorority on campus and was also on the SI Student Research team last year. In my free time I love to try new restaurants, go to spin classes and enjoy the San Diego sunshine. This year, I will be a SI Mentor for the Chem 100 Team. I was an SI Leader for the past two years for CHEM 100 and I am excited to step into this role. I became an SI Leader because I love working with a team and coming up with creative approaches to learning. Hope to see you at sessions!
MATH 150, 151, & 254 Mentor
Hi everyone! My name is Sara Kouyoumjian and I’m from Torrance, CA. I’m a fourth year Electrical Engineering student here at SDSU and I will be graduating in May. This fall will be my fourth semester with the SI program. I was previously an SI Leader for Linear Algebra, but this semester I will be a mentor for other SI Leaders. I’m really excited for this new role and I look forward to helping the program grow. When I’m not studying or working I love to do yoga and go to the beach!
CHEM 200/202 Mentor
Hi, my name is Regan Mukpik and I am the CHEM 200/202 Mentor this year. I am majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies and my disciplines are Kinesiology, Public Health and Spanish. This is my third year at SDSU but I am originally from Monument, Colorado. Before I became a SI Mentor I had been an SI Leader for CHEM 200/202 for two semesters. In the future I want to go to Medical School and become a doctor. Hopefully I can also incorporate doing research or advocacy for public health. Chemistry is a big part of my major and medical school prerequisites so I chose to go to SI Sessions because SI is a great opportunity to get some extra help in a more laid-back setting. Outside of school I love traveling, music and going to concerts, and spending time with my friends and family.
