What do you get when you give students a job, training, autonomy, and the support of faculty who want to see their classes succeed? Thanks to the support of faculty, deans, department chairs, and most importantly, students helping students, the answer is higher grades, specifically reduced repeatable grade (DFW) rates. In three, short semesters Supplemental Instruction has served more than 7,000 student participants, and made a significant impact in high challenge courses at SDSU.
